We are recruiting a Construction Manager for utility‑scale solar projects on behalf of our client, a global EPC and O&M provider delivering turnkey photovoltaic power plants. As their project pipeline in Romania expands, this role will join the on‑site execution team in Arad, supporting the full construction lifecycle of a 430 MW solar development.
In this position, you will coordinate all civil, mechanical and electrical construction activities, ensuring safe, timely and compliant execution aligned with technical specifications, international standards and grid operator requirements. You will lead the multidisciplinary site team, oversee subcontractor performance, maintain quality and HSE compliance, and ensure seamless communication with the Project Manager, client representatives, engineering teams, procurement, logistics and local authorities.
This role is project‑based for approximately two years, with the possibility of extension.
Location: Graniceri (Arad)
If you’re ready to work directly in the field and contribute to Romania’s renewable energy growth, apply now and let’s see if it’s a match.
Key Responsibilities
You will manage the end‑to‑end construction process for a large‑scale photovoltaic project, ensuring that execution follows the approved schedule and that resources are mobilized efficiently. A core part of the role is maintaining daily oversight of progress, identifying deviations early and implementing corrective actions to keep the project on track.
You will provide leadership and direction to the civil, mechanical, electrical, QA/QC, and HSE teams, ensuring alignment across all disciplines and preventing delays or technical conflicts. Collaboration with subcontractors is essential, including supervising their activities, validating contractual compliance, and contributing to their selection.
Quality assurance will be central to your work, ensuring that the project quality plan is implemented, that all activities meet technical specifications and that inspections and testing are properly coordinated. You will also champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and driving preventive actions whenever incidents occur.
Cost control is another key responsibility, requiring continuous monitoring of execution costs, optimization of resource usage, and early identification of financial risks. You will maintain clear communication with the Project Director or Project Manager, prepare progress, risk, cost and HSE reports, and ensure that all stakeholders remain informed throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Competencies
The role requires solid technical expertise in civil works, PV structures and trackers, electrical cabling, substations and SCADA systems, as well as a strong understanding of international standards (ISO). You must be fully available for on‑site work and capable of making fast, well‑reasoned decisions under pressure.
Strong leadership, planning, organization, communication, and negotiation skills are essential. Performance will be measured through execution deadlines, budget adherence, quality of delivered work, HSE performance, and client satisfaction.
Preferred Background
A degree in Electrical or Power Engineering is preferred, though a Mechanical Engineering background is also suitable. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is considered an advantage. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in construction management, including exposure to high‑voltage substation projects, and at least five years of experience in facility construction management. ANRE authorization is a plus. Fluency in English, digital literacy, and a Category B driving license are required.
